Portable Jail
This photograph was taken of a portable prison that was used to transport inmates to worksites. The curator stated that this item was found in the woods and donated to the Sampson County History Museum. The painting on the wall is to help illustrate the setting.

This image is how the portable jail looked on the inside. The curator stated that the jail was hitched to back of a truck and carried to the location where the inmates would be working.
